Training
Referees have numerous opportunities to learn and improve their officiating skills when signing up with BAOA. You will receive online training, in person training and on the court training.
On-line Training
Each official will receive an account to RefReps. RefReps is an officiating education course with video training packs. BAOA also holds on-line zoom training sessions on a variety of different topics during the HS Season.
Training Clinics
The BAOA Training Clinics are intended to prepare officials for the upcoming High School Girls & Boys season. The clinic curriculum will include the new NFHS rules, new techniques and protocols, professionalism, and other areas of emphasis. You can find our current clinic dates on our calendar. We highly recommend clinic attendance as a preparatory step for officiating in the upcoming season. The BAOA considers clinic attendance as a criterion for postseason officiating selections. Registration begins in early July.
On Court Training Camps
The BAOA Training Camps are held in a variety of venues, including Jamborees, scrimmages, and tournaments. BAOA's Training Camps offer the opportunity for video and verbal review by experienced, high-level officials in a non-threatening environment.
